Across the street from Caesars Palace, in what is known as the center strip area, a new entertainment development will break ground next month. The $550 million project by Caesars Entertainment is called The Linq and will feature restaurants, bars, retail stores, and venues.
While all this is nothing new for Las Vegas, the 550 feet tall observation wheel is. (See more pics below!)
The High Roller will have 28 cabins that can carry 40 people each. As the wheel rotates, each individual cabin will too! A full trip around will take 30 minutes and cost less than $20. Scheduled to open in 2013, the 6.6 million pounds of steel could become the world's largest observation wheel!
Currently, the Singapore Flyer holds the record at 541 feet, followed by the Star of Nanchang at 525 feet and the London Eye at 443 feet.
A pedestrian bridge will connect The Linq to the nearby Flamingo. However, the old O'Shea's and Imperial Palace casinos will be sacrificed for the monstrosity.
Check out these amazing artist renderings! Will you take a ride?
