This year's 2011 Washington Auto Show is a star-studded event. Well, a mostly car star-studded event, anyway. The show, which kicked off last Friday, includes a new display featuring automobiles from popular television shows and movies.
Visitors to the auto show’s new Car Star display can view replicas of vehicles driven in American Graffiti, Starsky and Hutch, Magnum, P.I., and others. The original Barricade, from Transformers, is also available for viewing.
"I thought it would definitely be an interesting display, something lots of people can relate to,"Rex Turner told The Washington Examiner. It was Turner who came up with the concept of a Star Car display.
On Monday, real-life Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi made an appearance at the Washington Auto Show. The 23-year-old, signed autographs for hundreds of fans gathered at the Washington Expo Center and judged a look-alike, or Snook-alike, contest. Polizzi also gave a press conference, sharing her thoughts on things like the sites (and men) of Washington D.C., the Super Bowl, and the crisis in Egypt. Here are a few excerpts from the interview as reported by D.C.’s TBD.
On if she'd been to Egypt, or had a message for the protesters: "Like, Egypt, Egypt?"
On rumors that she'd like to run for governor of New Jersey: "I have no idea what you're talking about."
On who is hotter, Bush, Clinton, or Obama: "George Bush was pretty cute, for an old guy."
On D.C. nightlife: "I'm excited to catch up on sleep tonight."
On D.C. men: "I haven't seen any yet—ask me later!"
Featuring over 700 vehicles, the 10-day Washington Auto Show ends on Friday, February 6. You'd better hurry if you want to see the show's car stars.
