What comes to mind when you hear marbles? Jonnie Marbles? Losing your marbles? What about the World Marbles Championship held this past week in Prague?
Czech Republic national team member Pavel Zoufaly beat 33 other players to win the 7th annual World Marbles Championship. According to the World Marbles Federation, Marbles Tournaments are going to become more and more popular in many countries.
"I am very happy about this victory," said Zoufaly. "The title of the world champion is big success itself, however, since I am the first Czech player who won the World Marbles Championship, Czech Marbles Championship and Czech National Ranking, I achieved everything what is possible to reach in the marbles sport."
Sport? Why yes! This challenging competition requires accurate aim, supreme squatting ability, and strong shooting fingers.
