Grateful Games Make Dead Heads Happy

The Grateful Dead will never die as Rhino Entertainment keeps coming up with ways to promote the band and their music. This summer, Dead Heads can throw on a tie-dye t-shirt, grab a veggie burrito, and enjoy Grateful Dead gaming online!

"Grateful Dead has always looked for inventive ways to embrace new technology," says David Lemieux, archivist for the band. "We’ve found a great partner in Curious Sense. They are lifelong Dead Heads who have some brilliant plans to take our fans on a very cool journey. We can’t wait for everyone to check out the fun new toys we are building."

In addition to online games, mobile applications are being developed as well. The experience is being described as an "interactive masterpiece, worthy of America's most important band." Whimsy, surprises, pranks, and miracles are promised as Grateful Dead themes are planned such as the Old West, Space, San Francisco, and Giza.

Curious Sense developers are currently engrossed in Grateful Dead music, characters, and settings, in order to find the perfect type of game that will utilize every aspect.

"I know that I want to create the ability for players to feel like they are playing in the band. That they are sort of jamming with them, but in a way that is different from a way that is done in Rock Band or Guitar Hero," said Curious Sense founder, Adam Blumenthal.

Dozens of games will be included in the first version, due out this August. In the meantime, fans can take the Grateful Dead survey to help further inspire the company's creative process!
