The prestigious Car and Truck of the Year Awards were both presented to Ford Motor Company today in Detroit.
The Ford Fusion Hybrid beat out the Buick LaCrosse and the Volkswagen Golf GTI, while the Ford Transit Connect won over the Chevrolet Equinox and the Subaru Outback.
This is only the third time in 17 years that one automarker claimed both titles. These awards help in marketing the vehicles, like with last year's winners - the Hyundai Genesis and the Ford F-150 pickup - who showed excellent sales despite the lousy economy.
So this should help increase job opportunities in the ol' U.S.A. right? Nah, the Fusion is assembled in Mexico and the Transit in Turkey. Ha!
Here's photos of the winners, along with the other competitors.
