Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) 2012 hits shelves October 14, and the game’s pack shot features none other than Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
"With so much emphasis on the movement of players and their individual abilities in PES 2012, we wanted the cover to feature a star known for their ability to change a game with one skillful move and to show that person doing what they do best," said Jon Murphy, European PES Team Leader for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH.
Ronaldo replaces Lionel Messia as the PES cover star. Cristiano also appeared alongside Michael Owen on the cover of PES 2008.
"I am flattered that Konami has chosen me to be the face of PES 2012, and by their reasoning behind the cover image," Ronaldo said of the honor. "PES 2012 to me is the perfect recreation of football, and truly highlights the way teams work together to create attacks, make space and break down defenses.”
PS3, Xbox 360, and PC gamers can pick up PES 2012 on October 14th. Wii gamers will have to wait until November 4th.
