New Casino Guide Gives Basics, Best Bets

Casino table games are fun, but people often fear them. There are no training rounds or tutorials when walking up to play pai gow poker or caribbean stud. So, rookies often rely on the written words of experts.

With his new book The Intelligent Guide to Casino Gaming, "You'll be able to enjoy more, lose less, and have a reasonable expectation of sometimes leaving the casino with more money in your pocket than when you entered," says author Sylvester Suzuki.

Florida Sells Drivers’ Info, Makes $63M

The state of Florida has reportedly earned $63 million after selling what many people think is personal information – the names, addresses, dates of birth, and the vehicles driven of the state’s 15.5 million drivers. According to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, it’s totally legal.

Ann Howard of the Florida Dept. of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, says, “Per federal mandate, there are companies that are entitled to this information. Insurance companies, for example, are entitled to this information. Employers are entitled to this information.”

The state is currently selling the information to companies including Lexus Nexus and Shadow Soft. Those companies gather people’s data and sell it, but they must sign contracts with the state claiming they won’t harass people (sounds promising, doesn’t it?).

Harley-Davidson Museum Shows Off Weird and Wild Wonders

Curators at the Harley-Davidson ™ Museum have pulled out a few of their stranger items from the archives for the newest exhibit “Collection X: Weird, Wild Wonders of the Harley-Davidson Museum.”

The idea for the exhibit came from the behind-the-scenes tours that visitors can take.

"You see the look on people's faces when you let them into the climate-controlled storage area and we begin to pull out this treasure," said Jim Fricke, curatorial director. "So we decided to play off the kind of mystery embodied in the kind of secret storehouse. That's where the theme came from."

Among the oddities are an all leather motorcycle made in Japan, a 1920’s leather facemask and displays of trophies dating back to the 1900’s.

The bikes that the Museum chose to display highlight a side of the iconic motorcycle manufacturer that is lesser known.

On display is a 1978 prototype of a liquid-cooled-motor-cross bike. It was first created when the company thought about branching to the motor cross business. The three-wheeled experimental vehicle known as “Project K”, which is a hybrid of a car and motorcycle with a Harley engine is also part of the exhibit.

Museum vice president Bill Davidson, the great-grandson of Harley Davidson Motor Co. co-founder William A. Davidson, gets goose bumps just walking through the exhibit.

When talking about the exhibit Davidson said, "It's very rewarding for me to see these and remember back when we were actually testing them, riding them. Very exciting.”

Ron Artest Changes Name To Metta World Peace

NBA player Ron Artest, who has tested the waters moonlighting as a rapper, has decided to change his name.  He announced yesterday that he had filed paperwork to officially change his name to Metta World Peace.  This might be a move to hype his less than successful rap career, or it could be to raise awareness of world peace.

"My understanding is 'Metta' will be his first name and 'World Peace' will be his last," spokesman John Black said. "Metta is an early Buddhist word, with various definitions along the lines of kindness or goodwill."
