Liz "Girl-Rilla" Carmouche began her MMA career in February of last year. She skipped amateurs and went straight to the pros. Her five year stint in the Marines taught her to be tough, but revealing her sexual orientation proved to be her toughest triumph of all them.

"After having to keep that aspect of my life secret while I was in the military, I realized that it wasn't the person I wanted to be," Carmouche said. "I wanted to be open and honest about it and take the risk rather than hiding it."

Former heavy weight boxer Henry Cooper, best known for knocking down Ali, died this past weekend. The boxer passed away after a long illness, just days before his 77th birthday.

Cooper was the first boxer to be knighted and receive the title “Sir” from the monarchy.

“I am at a loss for words over the death of my friend, Henry Cooper,” said Ali in a statement.

An Australian draftsman created a robotic boxing buddy he calls Punching Pro. The robot has two arms powered by 12 volt windshield-wiper motors designed to throw punches at human sparring partners.

UFC welterweight champ George St-Piere will face top contender Josh Koscheck at UFC 124, live from Montreal on December 11. The fight comes after each fighter has spent a season coaching on the show "The Ultimate Fighter 12". The rivalry has been building up ever since the fight was announced. Fans are behind GSP and believe that Koscheck will be no match for his ground game. The two previously fought at UFC 74 where GSP won by decision. GSP's record is 20-2. Koscheck's is 17-4.

Boxing fans have been waiting years and Las Vegas casinos have already begun taking bets on the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight now scheduled for March 13.

Manny Pacquiao, the Filipino pugilist, was made the early favorite after his big win over Puerto Rican fighter Miguel Angel Cotto a few weeks back. Pacquiao boasts 50 wins, 3 losses, and 2 draws.

But with Floyd Mayweather Jr. still undefeated with 40 wins, 25 of them knockouts, some say this could be the highest-grossing boxing match of all time. Many fans think Mayweather, at 33 years old, could be past his prime by the time this duel comes around. If Mayweather does win and remains undefeated, he can probably retire (again) and be considered one of the best fighters of all time.

Where the match will take place is still undecided, but locations like Yankee Stadium, MGM Grand, the new Dallas Cowboys stadium, and the New Orleans Superdome are rumored to be considered.
